With suicide statistics at an all time high, with over 9 deaths per day in Australia, comes a new music-theatre show that is full of honesty, joy and heart. A depression comedy, featuring the versatile acting skills of Dave Houston, live music and elements of clown and stand-up comedy.
STILL HERE by Dave & the Daves is a solo theatre show, (with musicians) that encompasses original songs, over a range of genres from rock, to psyche-folk, to punk, to hip-hop to a sweet lullaby. Dave is accompanied by musician, record producer and King Prawn, Christian Pyle from the Prawn and Spanner Studios in the Hinterland of Byron Bay.
The show gives a sideways wink to the world of theatre and unlike the Dr Suess poem, Too Many Daves, this show has just the right amount of Daves including:
Dave Houston, himself with a lived experience of mental health challenges has been acting and writing songs since he was 17. He took his first solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, has made 6 studio albums and created theatre works for schools and festivals, performing around the world. Dave Houston bio
