A percussive feast for the eyes, ears and curious mind

No action without reaction – Coexistence is a compelling showcase of contemporary percussion performance. Sound artists Alexander Meagher and Jesse Vivante present an expansive visual and sonic odyssey: arty, bold, and memorable.

Coexistence is a full-length double-bill concert. It features Meagher’s A Brilliant Seagull, a lush exploration of musical storytelling through traditional percussion practice, paired with Vivante’s Omni-Omni, an avant-garde journey with percussion, electronics, and movement.

Alexander Meagher – Percussion

Alexander Meagher is a dynamic Naarm/Melbourne percussionist known for adventurous repertoire and evocative performances. A classically trained soloist and ensemble musician, he performs widely-from Moirai Ensemble to MSO, Orchestra Victoria, Speak Percussion, and major festivals -with recent highlights spanning Opera for the Dead, Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert, Come From Away, Cold War Songs, and The SpongeBob Musical.

Jesse Vivante – Percussion

Jesse Vivante is a Boorloo/Perth-born percussionist and composer whose work blends emotion, human experience, and multidisciplinary collaboration. A WAAPA and ANAM graduate and 2023/24 Speak Percussion Bespoke Artist, his recent projects include Fall With Me, Omni-Omni, Convergence, Promises, Metaphysical, and The Milk Carton Confessions.
