Mark Conaghan is the core teacher for all of the classes, and will be drawing on the specific skills of other teachers during the year as needed. Mark is an award winning professional actor and qualified teacher. He has over 15 years experience in the theatre industry having worked extensively with the Queensland State Theatre Company and other professional companies including La Boite, Kooemba Jdarra and Grin & Tonic. He has been a workshop leader and teacher with Queensland Theatre Company and Backbone Youth Arts and directed several independent productions in Brisbane. In 2008 he was nominated for a prestigious Melbourne Green Room award for his performance in Monty Python's Spamalot directed by Oscar winning director Mike Nichols. Mark is developing a performer training program across all age groups, which will see the students following a considered and developed course of study which, should you be considering following performance as a career, will give you a great bag of skills to take with you. If you are doing it for personal development, it will give you the confidence to deal with some of life’s slightly more topsy turvy moments.
